Meaning in EUGRIS: The Principality of Liechtenstein was established within the Holy Roman Empire in 1719; it became a sovereign state in 1806. it is a hereditary constitutional monarchy on a democratic and parliamentary basis with 11 communes. Liechtenstein covers an area of 160 square kilometres and has a population of 0.033 million. The capital is Vaduz. Liechtenstein is no member of the European Union.
