Short description: The PAEQANN project reviews current ecological theories which can help identify suitable models to predict community structure in aquatic ecosystems and examine how results add to ecological water management objectives. To reach these goals a number of classical statistical models, artificial neural networks and dynamic models are presented. This report introduces and explains all of them, including an assessment of their advantages and disadvantages.
