Short description: This report presents a review of leading international approaches to setting soil screening values that are used in environmental risk assessment. The recommendations will be used by the Agency’s policy managers for land quality and by policy and process managers responsible for habitats regulation to advocate the most appropriate methodologies for deriving soil screening values. The recommended approach will be used to develop screening values primarily for use in Tier One (screening phase) of the Environment Agency’s ecological risk assessment (ERA) framework (R&D Technical Report P5- 069/TR1)
