Short description: This report is the result of a study of policy approaches to contaminated land, used m some industrialized countries It also includes the results of a review of activities of some international organisations m the field of soil protection This study was part of the project 'Approaches to soil contamination in various industrialized countries', which was initiated in September 1992 and carried out at the Agricultural University of Wagemngen, the Netherlands Financial support for the project was provided by the Technical Soil Protection Committee (TCB) This committee is an advisory board of scientists giving recommendations on technical and scientific aspects of soil and groundwater protection to the Minister of the Environment (VROM)
