Duration:  The fourth edition of the “Venice International Symposia on Energy from Biomass and Waste” will take place from 12-15 November in Venice, Italy. Born in the wake of the successful and well-established experience of the “Sardinia International Symposia on Waste Management and Landfill”, which are ranked at the top of the lists of international events in the sector throughout the world and register an average partcipation of 1000 delegates, the more recent Venice Symposia have been taking place every two years since 2006 and have now, in 2012, reached their fourth edition. The previous edition of the Symposium, held in 2010, was attended by nearly 600 scientists and operators form approximately 60 different countries. As per tradition, the Symposium will last four days (three days of scientific sessions and one day for technical tours) and will include several parallel oral sessions, a poster session, an exhibition by companies working in the field and technical tours.

Abstract submission date:  An extended abstract (at least one but no more than two full pages) prepared using the abstract template available on the Symposium website should reach the Organization no later than February 29th 2012. Abstracts can be submitted online as a Word or PDF file attachment. The abstract must clearly describe the content of the presentation and its basis (detailed case study, discussion of experience from practice, preliminary research data, completed research not presented previously, review of literature, administrative initiatives and regulations, etc). The official language of the Symposium will be English. In addition, the Symposium will arrange a session to be held entirely in Italian, in order to facilitate the participation of local delegates. Italian authors may freely submit papers for inclusion in both English and Italian sessions (in the English and Italian languages, respectively).Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation; offers of papers for workshops are also welcome.
