Project objectives:
To elucidate the role of natural organic colloidal matter on the transport of pesticides through soil

Project Summary:
The project featured both field and lysimeter studies and had three distinct aspects:

1 Assessment of the coloid facilitated leaching of four pesticides using soil columns; assessment of dissolved organic carbon in soil solution in relation
to macrochemical soil properties 2 Field lysimeter studies of pesticide movement as affected by manuring treatments 3 Solute transport models developed from data obtained from the laboratory and field studies, to establish the relationship between colloid content and
pesticide movement.
