Long description: BIOVENT is a CAL tutorial developed to inform students about the principles of bioventing (bioremediation of contaminants in unsaturated soils using air injection or extraction). However the program is suitable as an introduction to bioventing for students of soil science or Environmental Pollution. It provides information on the underlying principles of Bioventing, when it can be applied and the factors affecting performance, with the outline of a design and implementation of a Bioventing system. The program contains 4 main areas; Introduction, About Bioventing, Use of Bioventing and System design and operation. Animation and calculations are used to illustrate key concepts. The program was developed by Shell International Oil Products BV and requires a IBM PCWindows 3*1 or Windows 95 platform.
