Short description: Based on the analysis and evaluation of current practice in brownfield regeneration in four industrial core regions2 in France, United Kingdom, Poland and Germany RESCUE aims at developing and testing a systematic holistic approach to a sustainable regeneration of European industrial brownfields. Based on concrete case studies, the brownfield regeneration process has been broken down into the main steps of decision making and analysed along 5 transnational work packages classified in three complementary categories: - Engineering skills: Site diagnosis, soil management and contamination treatment (WP2), Buildings and infrastructures (WP3) - Planning skills: Sustainable land use and urban design on brownfield sites (WP4), Sustainable planning processes and methods for citizen participation (WP5) - Management and Method skills: Tools for the sustainable, cost efficient management of brownfield projects (WP6)
