Project objectives:
To provide basic knowledge which will allow refinement and validation of current mathematical models for estimating the movement and degradation of pesticides in soils and subsoils.
|
Project
Summary:
Research was undertaken at six field sites, each consisting of an accessible dry well and a weather station, where measurements of temperature change, moisture content, moisture flow and oxygen partial pressure were taken. These data, along with additional data from laboratory experiments relating to the microbial degradation of 2,4-D and Carbofuran were used in models to assess degradation at depth and in surface soil horizons.
