Organisation Outline:
The Department of the Environment (DoE) has responsibility for land use, air and water quality, waste management, natural and built environments, and to reduce road casualties. It promotes sustainable development principles. It has four Executive Agencies: Environment and Heritage Service, Planning Service, Driver & Vehicle Testing Agency, Driver & Vehicle Licensing Northern Ireland.
The Environmental Policy Division (EPD) is a Division within the DoE that develops policy and drafts legislation on a broad range of environmental issues including waste management, water quality, the natural and built heritage, air quality, biotechnology, noise and litter.
