Organisation Outline:
The objectives of the Oxford Centre for Environmental Biotechnology (OCEB) are broadly to develop biological science and technology and the associated process engineering to remediate problems in soil, water and air. The emphasis of OECB’s programme is on developing new science and engineering and providing a framework for scientific researchers to make interdisciplinary contacts and develop joint programmes, and to stimulate the development of research on new and major topics in environmental remediation and clean technology.
Individual projects in the Oxford Centre for Environmental Biotechnology include: Enhancement of membrane separation with gas sparging; Gas-lift crossflow membrane filtration; PCB degradation; Electrokinetic bioremediation; Degradation of cyanides; Degradation of metal-working fluids; Oestrogen removal; Biosurfactant production. An outline of each project is available on the web site.
