Organisation Outline:
NSCA (National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection) is a registered charity with regional divisions throughout the UK. A searchable database of specialists in pollution prevention and control is due to be launched in January 2005.
The Land Quality and Contamination Division of NSCA publishes leaflets about contaminated land for local authorities to give to the public, organises training conferences and occasionally commissions stand-alone projects on current issues concerned with the land use debate. The site has information pages on ‘what’s in the soil’, ‘legal definitions in land’, ‘responsibility and legislation’, ‘assessing risks from land contamination’, and ‘latest developments’. The ‘useful links’ page lists links to useful sites dealing with land quality, soil and contaminated land issues, including a number of governmental and regulatory sites and a range of NGO links.
