Membership of SGM is open to anyone with a proven interest in microbiology: no special qualifications are needed.
The Society publishes four journals of research papers and topical review articles: International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology; Journal of General Virology; Journal of Medical Microbiology and Microbiology Today.
