Organisation Outline:
The Contaminated Land Assessment & Remediation Research Centre (CLARCC) is a centre of excellence for multi-diciplinary research, developing technologies for sustainable, cost effective assessment and remediation of contamianted environments, promoting their transfer to industry.
CLARRC draws on the resources of groups across the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, the Schools of Life Sciences and Built Environment at Napier University and from the Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre (SUERC). Activities cover a range of brownfield sites, contaminated land and more generally environmental and pollution issues.
CLARRC actively engages with industry, exploring and developing ideas with a view to eventual commercialisation. Knowledge and technology transfer underpin all their environmental acitvities operating through such schemes as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP).
CLARRC are co-ordinators of the LINK Bioremediation Programme.
Documents can be downloaded from the library, which has information on contaminated land, soil, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS), bioremediation, oil remediation, water pollution, constructed wetlands, brownfield sites, landfill, biosensors, waste management, and other topics.
