Organisation Outline:
BIO-WISE is a major UK Government Programme funded by the DTI. It aims to improve the competitiveness of UK industry through the use of biotechnology and support
the development of the UK biotechnology supplier industry. BIO-WISE provides independent advice through the website, free publications describing the economic and environmental benefits of using biotechnology
and free events that present biotechnology in action and provide opportunities to network information and advice to biotechnology suppliers. The site has pages providing Technical information, Useful web links, Demonstrator projects and BIO-WISE vents, such as conferences and site visits. Publications
can be downloaded in PDF format via the Library link or ordered in hard copy format through use of the web publications basket. Bio-Broker offers an interactive method of searching for biotechnology suppliers and Industrial Biotechnology Specialists able to provide in-depth
advice. The Bio-Broker facility is particularly useful when you are considering investing in a biotechnology solution and need more facts and figures. BIO-WISE encourages the commercial application of novel biotechnology solutions and has offered financial support, through the Demonstrator Project
competition, to help fund user-led collaborative projects with the potential to stimulate the more widespread use of biotechnology.
