Project objectives:
The project aims to establish low-cost vegetated treatment systems to reduce the risk of diffuse agricultural pollution from pesticides in surface water. The aim is to provide mechanisms to improve water quality in line with the WFD objective of good water quality status by 2015
|
Project
Summary:
A series of demonstration sites will be developed, showing the practical application of a range of biological system solutions to the problem of diffuce agricultural pollution. These will include vegetated ditches, natural and constructed wetlands and forest plots. The intention is to design solutions that can be widely used throughout the EU.
