Project objectives:
The aim of the project is to transform the computer model linking tool OpenMI (Open Modelling Interface and Environment) from a research out put into a sustainably operable product. The project will build the capacity to use OpenMi and demonstrate it in real-life situations.

Project
Summary:
The Water Framework Directive requires an integrated apprach to catchment management, which in turn requires integrated analysis that can be supported by integrated modelling systems. These modelling systems can only be developed and maintained if they are based on a collection of interlinked models. OpenMI has been developed to provide a widely accepted unified method to link models, both legacy code and new ones. It is hoped that OpenMI will become the standard software for such operations and to this end the project will refine, develop and disseminate information relating to OpenMI to the wider environmental audience.
