• to describe the tools for data evaluation and the investigation of reference biocoenoses
and deviations, in particular the Data Input Program, the taxalist and the autecological
background information;
• to describe criteria used in selecting reference sites and strategies for selecting degraded
sites;
• to outline the general structure of the data on reference biocoenoses and deviations;
• to describe preliminary reference biocoenoses and deviations for selected stream types.
