Short description: |
Electroremediation is the generic term to describe an innovative in-situ remediation technology for decontaminating soils. The term collectively describes the principal transport mechanisms caused by applying an electric field into a wet soil mass, namely electromigration, electroosmosis and electrophoresis. The paper discusses the combination of reactive barriers and electrokinetic techniques with focus on the long-term behaviour of reactive barriers.
