This report provides an overview of the first phase of the project SustainabilityA-Test. This
project examines the theoretical and conceptual basis of tools commonly used in
(sustainability) assessments, on the basis of a literature review and a case study. The project
will develop a synthesis in which these various tools and a number of assessment methods are
compared with the requirements of sustainable development assessments. This synthesis will
be made available in the form of a handbook.
Three phases can be distinguished in SustainabilityA-Test:
1. Inception
2. Case study
3. Integration and synthesis
