Short description: |
This is the fourth revision of a document called the EU Habitats & Birds Directive Handbook. The guidance shows how the Agency implement the Habitats Regulations when we consider new consents and review old ones. They worked with English Nature and the Countryside Council for Wales to produce this information and are happy for it to be used by external organisations for information.
The Handbook sets out the general policy, process and technical guidance the Agency developed. The Habitats Directive Flow Diagram is useful because it shows you how the different documents work together.
The Handbook is subdivided into chapters one to seven, which deal with generic implementation issues, and the technical appendices, which look at specific functions of our work in more detail, including Water Resources, Waste Management and Industry Regulation.
