The new Environmental Permitting system will be a streamlined combination of the Waste MAnagement Licensing Regulations and Pollution Prevention and Control legislation. Core aims of the EP system will be to maintain environmental protection whilst simplifying and clarifying the regulatory burden on both operators and regulators. This document outlines the types of activity requiring a permit and the implications for operators of such facilities. The EP regime is subject to consultation until June 2007
