Short description: This document also provides guidance on how to carry out initial ecological surveys (ecosurveys) to inform the desk study and Conceptual Site Model (CSM) stage of the ERA (lTier 1), as well as the more detailed ecosurveys performed at Tier 2. Although this document has been prepared for the ERA framework, it is not designed to be Part 2A specific and so provides guidance on undertaking ecosurveys to inform any environmental assessment process. Ecosurveys are surveys designed to gather spatial and/or temporal ecological data including the presence and state of the habitats and species occurring on a site.
