Description of SNOWMAN's communication strategy including communication and dissemination action plan
|
Long description: |
Bridging the gap between supply and demand is part of SNOWMAN’s general objective and the practical part
for SNOWMAN’s communications.
Reflecting experiences, it would have been extremely helpful for the project realisation to structure all communication
objectives and aspects right in the beginning of a project or better just before. Then, the relevant target
groups for each activity, information, deliverable or result would become clear, and it would be much easier to
address and focus information.
During the progression of the SNOWMAN project and the proactive involvement of communication experts,
it became evident that the original understanding of “PR” by the SNOWMAN group was not in line with good
communication practice. “PR” is just a specific form of communication. What SNOWMAN needed was
a “Communication Strategy”: A definition of SNOWMAN’s identity, goals and message to be communicated
– inside and outside of SNOWMAN, to encourage enlargement of the group of funders and as a way to disseminate
the results of the research executed. The strategy consequently developed has become the framework
for SNOWMAN’s current and future communication activities. This framework is underlined by detailed “Action
Plans”. As it became obvious to the project team that dissemination is an integral part of the overall communication
topic, inseparably from the rest, one of these plans is focussed upon dissemination, explicitly.
SNOWMAN’s first coordinated call was the initial step in which the SNOWMAN partners translated its communication
plan into reality. The major dissemination goal is to make the research results available for all SNOWMAN
partners also for those countries not funding this specific project themselves. This is how SNOWMAN
understands the creation of added value – fewer funds but more results for each participating country!
