Enhancing the innovative strength of our country, creating sustainable employment and improving the quality of education these are the aims of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. BMBF wants to promote new markets with innovative technologies and to conduct research for the people. The aim is to once again make Germany one of the leading nations in the field of education within ten years.
The BMBF performs many different tasks at national level within the framework of its competences under the Basic Law. Furthermore, at international level, it encourages cooperation in education, science, research and technology with European and non-European states.
