Established by CIRIA in 1991, the Construction Industry Environmental Forum's (CIEF) mission is to improve the sustainability and environmental performance of construction, by providing a cross-sector and independent forum for the exchange of new ideas and demonstration of best practice.
Members (currently over 230 organisations) include clients and developers, contractors, consultants, architects, specialists, research bodies and academic institutions.
Objectives
Demonstrate the implementation and value of sustainability best practice
To identify the barriers and promote practical solutions
To provide briefings on the latest legislative changes
To showcase examples of best practice and innovation, and the business benefits
To assist in the production of appropriate best practice guidance
To promote research in sustainable construction
Disseminate the results of new research and guidance that can help to deliver a more sustainable built environment.
