The overall aim is to build a Network of key participants who will work together to promote the development of research work on, and implementation of, UK S/S 
technologies.    
    
The overall aim is to bring together a range of experts from different disciplines and with different backgrounds to consider S/S within the broader context 
of hazardous waste and contaminated land management in the UK, in order to critically evaluate the current and future role of S/S technologies, promote the 
use of S/S technologies, identify knowledge gaps, develop collaborative research teams, provide information on the latest developments. Startnet will 
provide a forum for the exchange, discussion and dissemination of existing information between all those in academia, industry and regulatory organisations 
with interest in S/S technologies.
